Mutants & Masterminds: Tazer

Season 1: Episode 3

The Eastern District, Emerald City
June, 2016

For two days, Tazer avoided the police and especially the military.

For two days, Tazer slept in alleyways or wherever he could find a place far from anyone who may see him.

While walking down a quiet street in the industrial section of the Eastern District, Tazer spotted a man in a suit standing outside of what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse. Curious, he made his way closer but stopped when he spotted a limousine pull up in front of the warehouse. A richly dressed couple stepped out of the limousine, walked up to the man in the suit and was allowed entrance into the warehouse. His curiosity getting the best of him, Tazer made his way behind the warehouse.

In an alley, he made his way up a fire escape and into the back of the warehouse’s upper walkway.

Below, he saw something unexpected.

In the warehouse’s ground floor, someone had put together a large cage complete with some kind of energized containment field. Inside, he saw a woman and a man battling each other. Both looked like superhumans. Outside the large cage which looked to measure some forty feet by sixty feet a crowd of people, some clearly rich, were enjoying the spectacle of seeing two superhumans battling each other.

For nearly a minute, the two went at it. Finally, the woman kicked the large man in the gut sending him flying against the containment field. He slammed into it like it was a wall. Struggling to get back up, the man raised two fingers indicating he didn’t want to continue the fight.

A man standing outside the cage called the woman, whose name was Destiny, the clear winner. Tazer watched as she walked out of the cage and collected a hand full of money, clearly her winnings from the fight she won.

Tazer made his way down below and mixed in with the crowd of people.

The man, who said his name was Dwayne Ragner, introduced the fight as Stormfront, a fighting circuit he and his partner Brad Burden started to give superhumans the opportunity to test their fighting skills in way that can also provide some entertainment for a select group of clientele.

Tazer made his way to Dwayne and offered to fight next.

Dwayne asked his name and introduced Tazer to the crowd. Dwayne asked for an opponent to face Tazer. A superhuman named Dragoneye offered to fight Tazer.

Once inside the ring, Dwayne went over the rules of Stormfront, and called for them to begin fighting.

The battle between Tazer and Dragoneye lasted nearly two minutes. Dragoneye used his ability to fly to keep his distance from Tazer, who was forced to rely on his range electrical attacks to fight his opponent.

At one point, Dragoneye emitted a roar that stunned Tazer, preventing him from moving his muscles. Despite being unable to move, Dragoneye’s fire attacks didn’t strike Tazer.

However, in time Tazer was able to keep hitting Dragoneye with his controlled electrical attacks forcing Dragoneye to eventually admit he had been beaten by Tazer.

Before leaving the cage, Dragoneye told Tazer he was a member of The Riot Crew and that their paths would be crossing again someday. Tazer wasn’t concerned at all. He left the cage and collected his winnings. It looked enough money to afford a place to stay, clothes, and food for about a month.

A young attractive woman in her early twenties approached Tazer. She introduced herself as Elizabeth Sage, a member of a new superhero team looking for new members. She was impressed by Tazer’s skills in the cage and asked him if he would be interested in joining. Tazer agreed to join.

Sage said she wanted to stay awhile and watch a few more fights to see if there was anyone else worth asking to join the team.

The next fight did not disappoint neither Sage nor Tazer.

A young man, who looked liked he barely graduated from high school, stepped into the cage. He wore an outfit that made him look like a green snake. He wore a mask to cover his face. He announced himself as “Drake the Snake” to the cheering crowd.

Drake was followed by a young attractive blonde named Princess who wore a pink shirt and a pair of blue jeans. Sage and Tazer noticed that before entering the cage, she was standing next to Dragoneye and talking to him like they were friends.

The fight between Drake and Princess lasted about eighteen seconds!

In a swift move that surprised everyone watching, Drake got behind Princess and seemed to be wrestling with her. She tried to elbow him, but didn’t connect. Drake then got her in a vice-like chokehold that nearly forced her to go unconscious.

She threw up her arm in surrender and the crowd went wild. They had never seen a fight between two superhumans that was over before people could even place bets down.

Drake, got the crowd cheering for him and collected his winnings.

Sage and Tazer both approached Drake and asked him to join the new superhero team she and two other friends were forming.

Drake agreed to join as well.

Satisfied that she had recruited two new good team members, Sage invited them back to Emerald Tower to introduce them to Jacob and Ron.

Sage had a feeling their new superhero team would be powerful enough to protect Emerald City from anything that threatened the city.

Season 1: Episode 2

Yellow Brick Row, Emerald City
June, 2016

Tazer wandered through the district of Yellow Brick Row.

The city looked like a war zone. Dark smoke from dozens of fires all across the city rose into the sky.

While making his way down a deserted street, Tazer was suddenly struck by a bolt from the Silver Storm as he heard people calling the strange phenomenon affecting all of Emerald City. Not sure how long later, Tazer regained consciousness. He didn’t seem the worse for having been struck by lighting.

He later came upon trapped people inside of a burning apartment building. The front door was made of steel. Tazer used his electrical power to destroy the steel door just as a fire engine barreled down the street.

The fire engine came to a sudden stop just as lighting struck two buildings across the street from each other. Both buildings began to collapse towards the middle of the street in front of the fire engine. Fortunately both building came to rest against each other, but not before debris from the buildings fell on top of parked vehicle with trapped occupants inside.

The firefighters asked Tazer for help after he had managed to destroy the steel door and free the trapped tenants.

Tazer focused his electrical blast towards the debris blocking the street. Unfortunately he miscalculated, causing tons of debris to explode everywhere and caving in on the parked vehicle, killing the occupants instantly.

Disturbed by what had happened, Tazer left the area and the firefighters behind.

Several blocks later, Tazer came upon a street full of dead bodies and wrecked cars.

Moments later, a woman with razor sharp claws and teeth appeared on the scene after having killed something which resembled a mix between a large snake and a man.

From an open window at an upper floor, a man was seen busy video recording the chaos using his cell phone.

The man called the woman Mongoose , after a similar animal known to fearlessly fight againts snakes. Mongoose saw the man and threatened to kill him for video recording her.

Tazer intervened and fought and defeated her.

Just then a woman covered entirely in flames flew into the area, just as a familiar looking news van appeared from down the block. Tazer recognized Allan Zabloski, who hailed the woman in flames Flamestrike, after witnessing her ability to strike others with flames earlier that day.

Flamestrike and Tazer introduced themselves to each other and assured one another they were the good guys, or gal as the case may be.

Seconds later a female figure floating in the air made her entrance.

Zabloski immediately reported that the newly arrived woman was named Death Magnetic, a local citizen struck by the Silver Storm and had been causing mayhem throughout the Yellow Brick Row.

Death Magnetic ordered Tazer and Flamestrike to join her and form a super villain team capable of challenging the criminal organizations of Emerald City, and then making the city bow to her will.

Tazer responded by blasting her with a bolt of electricity.

Flamestrike flew up and joined in the battle but was soon incapacitated by a blast of magnetic waves from Death Magnetic. She reverted back to her true form—fully clothed by the way—and fell from some twenty feet above the ground. Fortunately, Tazer was able to catch her without either one suffering any damage.

After placing Flamestrike on the ground, Tazer tried to convince Death Magnetic to come down to the ground and fight him.

However, Death Magnetic said she had pressing matters to attend like trying to form a super villain group so flew off. Allan Zabloski and his cameraman took off after the villain.

Tazer placed the unconscious Flamestrike inside of a nearby building. He then took Mongoose to find police officers who he could turn her in to.

A female detective named Maggie Buckner offered to have Flamestrike taken to the hospital. She then took custody of the unconscious Mongoose.

Later that day, Detective Buckner went to the hospital. She told Tazer that Flamestrike’s true identity had somehow been released. The city now knew that Flamestrike’s true identity was Tracy Burns, a professional dancer who’s been known to have appeared on several of the city’s musicals. Bucker also told Tazer that the hospital was swarming with reporters who wanted to interview the city’s first two known superheroes.

Tazer, who sat next to an unconscious Flamestrike, didn’t know what to do. He suspected that the military was still looking for him.

The last thing he needed was to talk to any reporters who would gladly show his face to the entire world.

Season 1: Pilot

Yellow Brick Row, Emerald City
June, 2016

The man who would become Tazer escaped from a secret military base north of Emerald City, near the Canadian border. An army soldier, he was coerced into participating in Project B.O.L.T. (Basic Operational Living Taser) after he was threatened with court martial after being caught in possession of drugs. The army intended to turn him into a super soldier capable of fighting the enemy with his body’s ability to generate electricity like that of an electric eel.

After nearly dying from the experimental procedure, Project B.O.L.T. was immediately scrapped. The army did not want any lose ends so decided to erase all traces of the project, including Tazer.

After escaping from the military base, Tazer made his way to Emerald City hoping to hide himself in the populous city.

The next morning, Tazer woke up to the sound of two men arguing in an alley. The two men were arguing over the contents of a purse they admitted to having stolen from an elderly woman moments before.

Tazer confronted the two men. After knocking one out, Tazer convinced the other to take him to the elderly women so they could return her purse.

But soon after leaving the alley, that’s when everything started happening.

The loud, heart-stopping sounds of an explosion and shattering glass along with the accompanying shock struck Tazer without warning. Within moments, a strange cloud of silvery mist blanketed the surrounding area. Just as panic and flight were about to take hold, the cloud began to swirl without any evident prompting from the wind. It whipped itself into a cyclonic mass, discharging what appeared to be bolts of bluish lightning both within itself and outward around its immediate vicinity. Both blast and bolts subsided and began to dissipate before anyone could arrive on the scene, leaving the dead and injured as the most immediate concern.

2016-04-28_19-09-56.jpgA bolt from the sky struck a nearby man standing in front of a Japanese restaurant displaying a live octopus inside a large fish tank. The bolt arced from the man towards the octopus. The man suddenly screamed as he transformed into a hideous creature: half man, half octopus.

Meanwhile, two men appeared across the street. One held a news camera while the other, clearly a reporter began speaking into a microphone. “I’m Allan Zabloski, Emerald City Inquisitor’s man on the spot!”

The octopus creature whipped one of its tentacles across the street and grabbed a man running out of a nearby Starbase coffee shop. With a squeeze of its tentacles, the man was instantly killed.

“Did you see what that thing…that Octoman did?” Zabloski yelled into the mic.

Not wasting time, Tazer ran up to Octoman to fight him.

The battle between Octoman and Tazer fast hard fought, but in the end Tazer defeated Octoman. With a powerful punch, packed with powerful volts of electricity, Tazer knocked Octoman unconscious.

Tazer searched for the thief he had caught earlier, but he had escaped while Tazer was busy fighting Octoman.

Despite Allan Zabloski requesting an interview with Emerald City’s newest hero, Tazer quickly left the area.

As he looked back at the carnage, Tazer wasn’t certain if being in Emerald City was safer after all. But he would take his chances…for now.
